Trust In Government – The Real Casualty Of The Virus Panic

Trust in Government? Half the world’s population – estimated at 3.5 billion people- have been coerced into voluntary house arrest. Economies are being devastated and lives affected more than at any time since WWII.

All due to the carefully orchestrated propaganda campaign instituted by the WHO and adopted without question by leaders and populations who should be intelligent enough to know better. Half the world’s population cowed into submission without a shot being fired. Hitler’s propaganda team would be green with envy if they were alive today.

The plot to destroy individual rights has even seduced the churches, most climbed on board with indecent haste to prevent worshippers congregating. The first time in my memory that churches have aided governments in oppressing people. Churches and religious leaders are usually to be found as the instigators of resistance to the slightest real or perceived hint of government heavy-handedness.

On 8 April 2020, I sent the following email to the four contenders for the leadership of the Canadian Federal Conservative party and my local Federal and Provincial members of Parliament.

As of today 22 April, I have had two automated acknowledgements that my email was received, no replies.

So much for trust in government.

The Email

I have been doing my own independent research into the true situation with the coronavirus.

The facts are:

Mortality rates are wildly exaggerated with many deaths from other causes recorded as from the virus.

It is unlikely to cause as many deaths as those from the annual winter flu season.

Total number of deaths from all causes in most of Europe and even some Italian cities are below average for the first quarter.

Hospitals in the USA are not overwhelmed by sick people but by people driven to panic by irresponsible media reports.

The suffering and misery that will follow the overreaction to this virus will be felt for generations.

Some highly qualified doctors and infectious disease specialists believe that “social distancing,” by delaying the onset of herd immunity will prolong the epidemic, increase the number of deaths – especially among the elderly – and increase the prospect and the severity of a second wave of the virus next fall.

I agree that it is necessary to protect vulnerable people, the elderly and those with health complications. at age 69 and a heart attack survivor, I am in that category myself.

However, I am appalled that the Conservative Party is complicit in the greatest propaganda campaign since WWII and working with the Liberals to destroy the economy, bankrupt small businesses, prevent farmers from producing food and condemn millions to a precarious financial future.

That this campaign should ignore the rights of individuals, encourage citizens to snitch on their neighbours and allow the police to harass innocent people is unbelievable in a democracy.

Some stores are now refusing to accept cash – surely refusing to accept our nation’s legal tender is an act of treason.

Is it any surprise that a rapidly increasing number of people are suspecting a conspiracy to install an authoritarian world government and remove the last traces of freedom? If this continues, I believe there is a real danger of resistance from distrusting populations and anarchy in many parts of the world.

If outside elements had caused as much harm to Canada as the Federal and Provincial governments have in the last 3 weeks, it would be considered an act of terrorism.

It’s time to get Canadians back to work and back to living without fear.

Just one source which quotes a Canadian doctor:

Dr. Joel Kettner [], professor of Community Health Science at Manitoba University and Medical Director of the International Centre for Infectious Diseases declared recently:

I have never seen anything like this… I am not talking about the pandemic, because I have seen 30 of them, one every year… But I have never seen this reaction, and I am trying to understand why…

There are more relevant articles on that and other sites, sadly ignored by the mainstream media.

I survived 3 years of intimidation in Zimbabwe during Mugabe’s farm seizures, eventually losing my farm and all my assets after being illegally imprisoned to prevent me from returning to my farm. I am very grateful to have been accepted by Canada in 2004 and am now a proud citizen and Conservative voter. However, I hope that I have not exchanged one authoritarian regime for another.

If you want my vote as leader of the party, it’s time you took a stand for Canadians not the UN, and WHO.

Trust our own thoughts

That was two weeks ago. The madness continues.

There is hope. Every day the opposition to this erosion of citizens’ rights increases. Visits to alternate media that question the official facts and provide data from doctors and unbiased medical experts are growing in number.

People are starting to think for themselves, ask questions and realise that something is not right with the stories we are being fed. Street protests in many cities are visible signs of this lack of trust.

Sadly, trust in the authorities is becoming so low that I fear frustrated, hungry and broke people could resist the forced oppression violently. I hope that our leaders wake up and get our societies back to a semblance of normality before then.

Peter, this is well-timed. I state that because a friend of mine who is on your side of the opinion started an e-mail chain about the situation. What follows is another opinion. I’d be pleased to see how you feel about this.

Let me enlighten you all with regards to what’s missing. I apologize first for being the math geek, but this is what I do.

Based upon the numbers of people being infected, 4 weeks ago when we started the isolation process, we were set on a course where the numbers were doubling every 2 to 3 days. If we take the first case showing up in Canada was February 20, we should have 65536 cases of individuals with COVID 19, but our numbers are currently around 20000. This number has not even doubled in 7 days. That in itself suggests that our current methods are working.

In the US, the first case showed up on Jan. 20. At the time of quarantine, the US numbers were doubling every 2 days. For sake of argument, I used the every 3 day doubling. Since the first case at this rate, US numbers of infected individuals should be at 33554432 people, but it is now only around 430000. Again this suggests that it is working.

It is not only about the death toll that there lies a problem. It is about the sheer volume of the number of individuals that would need to be accommodated in our already stressed medical system.

I myself, do not wish to risk getting ill to a point that I cannot manage my symptoms and take a hospital bed from someone who has a true emergency because I didn’t follow protocol. And not only that, risking my friends and family that I have seen in the process at a time that I didn’t know I was infected.

That all said, I strongly encourage all my friends and family to stay home and stay safe. I think that this short time frame that we all do our part will be best for all of us in the end. Even if the short time frame is a few months. We are in this together and we need to stick together to ensure that we can overcome this. Please stick to the protocol.

From the math perspective, what we are doing is working. We are eliminating the contacts and slowing the increase in the number of individuals being affected. This seems like a win-win.

Thank you for taking the time to reply with your thoughts Tim.

Whilst respecting your opinion and agreeing with the simple mathematical example that indicates the forced house arrest of millions has slowed the spread of the virus, the model you use (which is the one promoted in the mainstream media guilty of starting this panic) confuses correlation with causation and ignores the unreliability of the tests being used.

It also assumes that 4 weeks ago when you state “the numbers were doubling every 3 to 4 days” that none of those new confirmed cases had been previously infected. The reality is that the doubling was as much to do with increased testing (with it’s high probability of giving false positives) as it was with actual new infections.

I accept that the “social isolation” (an oxymoron) and other authoritarian measures imposed, may have saved a few lives and slowed the spread of the virus in some places.

I also agree that vulnerable groups should be adequately protected.

The panic as promoted by the WHO and the media, ignores the fact that 50% to 80% of those infected are asymptomatic and do not require any medical intervention, let alone hospitalisation.

It also ignores the fact that 80% to 90% of the deaths are not solely due to the virus and it overstates the mortality rate to add to the panic

Very few hospitals are full, let alone overwhelmed, many are operating way below capacity and denying urgently required medical or surgical care to patients.

The very nature of viruses means that this one will spread, no matter what precautions are taken.

While the current strategy may slow the spread of the virus, it is going to prolong the suffering and condemn millions to misery. The effects are already costing lives in Africa where people must scavenge for food every day and now have the dilemma of choosing between dying of starvation or being arrested by the police for ignoring a curfew and thrown into squalid jails where they will contract diseases far worse than anything caused by the coronavirus.

Sweden alone seems to have got the balance right.

Therefore, I stand by my contention that the authoritarian actions of this and other governments are unnecessary and will cause more harm than the virus itself.

I would far rather risk the effects of the virus than die from starvation in a totalitarian state that tracks my every move, controls who I can meet, prevents me from using cash and decides who can work and who cannot.

Peter, I know of at least one assumption in your response. In my introduction to my reply I stated the following; “What follows is another opinion.” It was not my opinion as I would have claimed it. My opinion is based on respect for life, all life from conception to natural death. It is my belief that we are all vulnerable because we are mortals. Just ask the family of the 45 year old woman who is in our local hospital on a ventilator due to COVID-19 after returning home from a vacation. The risks are higher than you will ever admit.

Tim, I also have the greatest sympathy for the woman you mention and hope she recovers. I too have respect for human life – all humans – not just those who can in the short term survive enforced “quarantine” but the millions who are already suffering the effects of the shutdown.

Justifying the shutdown for an epidemic that has a mortality rate similar to the flu is like suggesting we ban the use of motor vehicles because they cause deaths.

That’s not just my opinion but that of a growing number of medical experts who do not have a political agenda.

          To quote Swiss Propaganda Research:

“According to data from the best-studied countries such as South Korea, Iceland, Germany and Denmark, the overall lethality of Covid19 is between 0.1% and 0.4% and thus up to twenty times lower than initially assumed by the WHO.”

We will have to agree to disagree on this!
